My battery is like a prick in a top hat and was retained by what I can only describe as a nylon dog chain!

Can someone post up a pic of theirs so I can get one made up please!

I would take a pick of mine but it's just gravity holding it now. Mine is quite a tight fit so i'm not too worried about it going anywhere.

Don't know if you can see well enough but my mechanic
made a metal tray for the battery to sit in
(which I suppose is then bolted thru the bodywork)
then has the retainer coming over the top

Thanks Guys

I was thinking along the lines of yours Tricky but I also like the welly one!

Its given me a few pointers, and as my battery is fitted (in the loosest terms) (see what I did there??) on the passenger side on an eneven surface I think Ill make up a couple of brackets that will clamp the bottom.

Thanks again

Mine's in the boot. The battery's under the bonnet, but the perished rubber strap that once secured it is in the boot biggrin There are 2 'D' rings, one on the firewall and one on the inner wing and said rubbery article has hooks on the ends.... self-explanatory really, apart from the fact that you need fingers like Len Fairclough to get at the rings...
