stage 1 of the SX restoration
Discussion
the interior was ok however the dash veneer needed attention so I reveneered it retaining the original veneer
while working on it i found the leather was re-conolonized (spelling?) at some stage and was the wrong green so after seeing the piece in sprint and having done my last 350 i ordered the kit, but to do it properly all the leather needs to be removed.........and while im at it i'll get rid of the crap quality foam which is all damp and smelly and replace it
I've got new carpets on the way from D&C trim and while im waiting i'll address the rusty bits
more to follow as i go..........
cheers guys, Cullen enjoyed your comments....
got the rusty bits cut off & replaced today now there at the sand blasters, also getting a few repairs done on the leather before i conolize it, ordered the foam as well, so I should be turning the point now start putting it back together. have to give D&C a call see where me carpets are!

Hi All,
Here's an up date of progress, ive now finished the leather restoration all now back to the original colour scheme (I used the furniture clinic product that was in sprint a couple of months back, works really well)

Still waiting for my carpets to arrive and should get my walnut dash tomorrow.

Bump,for a progress report

When I removed the seats I found the fixing holes in the glass were enlarged and weak so I used gal gate washers and glued them on the top and underside with sicaflex. nice to know the seat won't fly out going over the slightest bump.......

getting the dash back slowly but worth the wait

The 6by9's i have put in have stainless mesh over them the idea is to carpet over them so as it still looks original
ok now some of you older folk
may not approve
but I like my sounds 80's of course......METALICA, G'n'R etc etc

and last but not least a bit of bling
enjoy
