Anybody know where I can get 'em. Would need to be someone willing to ship across the pond. Marshall appears to be MIA with his real job and my car is in dire need. Seems to be getting worse just looking at it. Was hoping to take it to the beach next week but wouldn't trust it that far from home without replacing 'em.

Thanks
Ben

I got pins and bushes from Richard Thorpe http://www.rtracing.co.uk

He might not ship overseas though, if you need a middle man over here I'd post them on for you.

Richard shipped them to me in Canada so I am sure he will ship to the States.

I think the bushes are also on the Lotus Esprit which knowledge isn't probably that useful to you.

They are indeed. Also used on Jags I think.

Thanks guys, did a quick search based on Jag trailing arm bushes and came up with nothing similar. Sent an email to TVRcarparts. Hopefully they're willing to ship. I've read Richard is a little leary about us sue happy Americans. Heck I'd even offer to sign a waiver saying they were to be used as paperweights. Hopefully this works out w/o the need for a middle man. Hate "cheating" on Marshall either way but its gotten so bad I don't want to mess up the shiney new paint.

Not sure they were suspension bushes on the Jags, more like engine or gearbox mounts... or subframe mounts. It's been a good few years since I searched for them myself.
Strangely those bushes never (well, rarely) wear out on the Esprit but don't last 5 minutes on a TVR wedge. Maybe it's the upper link that Lotus used... wink

Thanks for the tips. Neil from TVRcarparts read the post and contacted me (email I sent last night got lost in cyberspace apparently). Parts should be on the way this pm or tomorrow.

Okay so bushings arrived this week. Got the driverside replaced with new oval washer and pivot pin. Took apart the pass side and the spacer shims (washers) all look like they were "hammered". Everything seemed tight, bushings on both sides were old (probably original) but were in suprisingly decent visable condition. Any ideas? Also, looking for a torque spec for the pins.

I just do them up by hand "quite tight" - maybe 50-70 lbf?

Make sure the wheels are taking the weight of the car first - I put it together then either get it on ramps or jack up the wheel to be level before the final tightening.
