Firstly clean with a good cleaner and stiff brush, repeat as many times as it takes dont worry about laquer. Then very lightly with a very very soft wet and dry paper rub out any marks brasso will sometimes work..Remember less is more. when wheels are spotless( they may look a bit dull at this stage ) get a chip paint in aluminium and paint any scuffs.. You can wait a couple of weeks than flat but if you are carefull you dont need to, then buy some high gloss laquer and spray with as many light coats coats as you want.... The result is truly exelent. i do this to my wheels when i spring clean twice a year and they really do look like new.. obviosly the scuffs are still there but you really have to look close to notice. It just takes the eye from them.. then next time you clean your wheels when they are dry spray some silicone spray on the tyre and wheels and wipe off wheels (carfull not to get any on disks). this really does keep the brake dust off for a very long time..you can however pay £50+vat per wheel and have them done profesionally but there is always something that needs the money more.

Just stripped, repainted and relaquerd mine for about £30 for 4, metallic slate grey centres with silver rims (multispoke wheels). Very pleased with results.
