I know the car - until about a year or so ago it belonged to a friend of mine, who had owned it for several years. Unfortuntely, it was not getting any use (although it was stored in a carcoon for most of the time), so he sold it to the dealer. Was one of a pair for a Middle Eastern buyer. Came with a trick expensive 4 speed auto box. It also originally had a SEAC syle exhaust (under the diff) which caused clearance issues, so he had a side exit system made and fitted. One pipe per bank, so exists on both sides of the car, which IMHO, made the car sound like an air-cooled Beetle (no link between the 2 banks). Had a mega sound system with huge amp in the boot but I dont think it worked. Similar for aircon, I don't recall it working, and there was no cabin heating (hardly needed in the ME). It ran quite well, tracked once at Zolder with us. Standard Lucas management system though. Seem to remember it also had RE71's last time I saw it, which will be well past their useful life. If I can think of anything else I'll post it.

One of the last 2 450's ever made in 1992, just before the mandatory catalytic converter fitment date.
All the manual 450'se were made in 1989 and 1990. My 450 is one of the last two or three made in 1990. As the article says made for a customer in the middle east, would have thought they would have bought a Griff .....but good on 'em for ordering two more extinct wedges.

I think there was a long waiting list for the Griffs though.

Maybe customers were in a hurry ?
