Hi Peeps..
Well i think we definitely need this as more and more people are suffering with problems on their cars which might mean them missing out on the BBWF and to be honest they might not need to if we can concerntrate on the most needy..Starting with Dixi..Simply add your problems on here and we can all concerntrate on one post so that all of the problems people are having can be dealt with under one roof..
most importantly get every detail of what your car is doing..Every little quirk or symptom so that the diagnosis can be correctly applied..So come on lets get it on..Ziga

Ok then i'll start with a very very minor issue. I was changing the coolant temp sensor yesterday but didn't complete the job as the new sensor was faulty. As soon as it nipped up in the inlet manifold (by hand) it then, rather than tighten a fraction of a turn to ensure a seal the top simply span round in the socket.

Will get a new one this afternoon or tomorrow but my question is: is there a torque setting for these sensors?

No torque setting that I'm aware of, but bearing in mind it's a brass thread into an aluminium hole, it wont need much. When you say turning, do you mean the brass thread is not engaging properly, (stripped?) or that the centre of the sensor has become loose?

It's come loose. The brass sensor doesn't move but the black plastic top turns. Threads are ok as I put the old one back to check and it nips up ok.

Put it all back togather this afternoon. The replacement (for the replacement!) is an intermotor part. The nut for tightening it is integral with the brass sensor, only the bit that the plugs connects to is plastic so no problems with this one. The original replacement was a Britpart? Anyone know these?
