LT77 Speed Transducer - Drive Pinion.
Discussion
Regarding different drive pinions on various LT77 Speedo Transducers.

Typically as follows, depending upon the application.
Drive Pinion --- No of teeth
Orange --------- 20
Red ------------ 22
Black ----------- 23
1 Does anybody know if the Drive Pinions can be removed and interchanged?
2 If so - How are they removed?
3 How are they retained?

Hi Ramon, yes there are more colours too, I know of green and white (for starters).
However in the Wedging world we don't have a transducer but a direct drive to the speedo. Other than that the gearbox end looks very similar.
The different gears are interchangeable and each one, having a different number of teeth (actually you'll probably find the angle of the teeth is proportional) gives a different rate of rotation compared to the output shaft on the gearbox.
Using different colour gears you can compensate for different diff ratios or rear wheel rolling diameters.
I haven't looked but it's probably driven by a worm gear on the output shaft in the box. They are retained in place by a forked clamp that is a little like the dizzy clamp, held on by one bolt, 7/16" as I recall.
