So, having been fastidiously attending to all the little jobs I thought needed doing during the last 6 weeks or so I figured I should check the tyres pressures as (i'm ashamed to say) I haven't done it since buying the car in May!! redface

Anyway I reckoned despite the possibility of inheriting the odd tired bush......ahem, the handling was not as it should be.

So into the local juice station to check the pressures and this is what I found..............

Front nearside 21 psi
Front offside 20 psi
Rear nearside 23 psi
Rear offside 27 psi

I have them all at 30 psi now and was wondering what people ran their cars at. As the wedge is a relatively light car I figured going too hard would have it bouncing all over the place.

Thoughts?

I think the recommended pressure is 24psi though I always thought that a little low and run mine at 26psi with no problems. I think that 30 psi will make the ride too harsh for the weight of the car.

I guess the other chaps will be along shortly with their experiences.

Correct theory, bad execution. 22/24 is standard.

As JR says, the handbook says 22F 24R. I run mine (standard size tyres) 22F and 25R, and the wear is fairly even.

22 all round on my 350i suits me for the roads around here.

We're all learning. In reality there was only one rear that needed altering.

I wouldn't assume that the air pump gauge at a petrol station is correct, too much throwing around by Jo Public. I know some that are 9lb overeading so I have always checked mine with my own gauge. Saying that, my guage (that I don't use) on my air line over reads by about 15lb

ETA meant to put over reads, corrected now tho
