What tyres can you get for 15" rims these days?
Ideally I want 225 width but I'll consider 220, 215, 210s or even 205's
All the usual tyre sites are arse about tit when searching, the rim size comes last....
try camskill, you can search by rim size first and they are often cheap.Ideally I want 225 width but I'll consider 220, 215, 210s or even 205's

215 is a very hard size to get, 225 and 205 are easier depending on the profile you want. My G33 was supposed to have 215/50/15's which are virtually unobtainable so I ended up with 225's on the rear and 205's on the front. Toyo proxes.

Nice .. search I did said I could have 'flange' protectionhttp://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=110&...

Yeah I went for some Nexen N2000's in the end - I've had them on the rear and they are fairly grippy, and let go progressively, no nasty surprises anyway.
Cheaper though from http://www.tyretraders.com
Rev - yes the Falkens have "rim flange protection" which I expect refers to the "rubber" they use ;^)

Got some new tyres a couple of weeks ago for our sprint car - 225/50/15 Toyo T1R. Identical diameter as 205/55/15, but give 20% more tread on the road because of the pattern. They are slightly wide for the 7 inch rims, so increased the pressure to about 28psi to compensate.
Good tyre, and seemingly the chosen "road tyre" for the sprint championship. Very progressive and reasonable wear - did 6k miles on the last set!

I think the Toyo T1Rs are normally the tyre of choice.
Spotted a couple of 8.5 x 15 OZs sitting in a corner at Selby TVR this afternoon...and a very smart G reg. 350i in white up for sale.
I was passengering in a friend's S series, as he wanted to test-drive a Chim' 400 they had for sale.
