Different exhaust notes......

Had a weird one with my TVR.......
With the exhaust as was the exhaust note on the passenger side was very raspy and almosy tinny at times. I thought this was down to an issue with the silencer on that side. We have just changed BOTH sides to identical "cherry bomb" silencers, this has made the exhaust note much less tinny (and a few dB quieter) but the passengers side still has the "rasp" to it.
I wasn't aware of it before but it appears the only remaining difference is that the passenger side seems to have thinner piping than the drivers side. I will change this as soon as I can get some bigger pipe ordered, however is the diameter of the exhaust feed pipe likely to be the case of the rasp or do I need to think about other possible causes?
Might get some of the guys to take a listen at BBWF this weekend.
