Front tie bars
Discussion
There seems to be a bit of play in the front suspension tie rods on my '87 350i. I can turn the poly bushes by hand between their cup washers. This might account for a bit of steering shimmy during fairly 'spirited' driving. They don't look worn out or compressed.
I'm guessing the bars just need to be clamped to the chassis at the point they naturally sit through the mounts in the chassis? (assuming the upper and lower wishbones are in the right place to start with).
I don't want to tighten the bolts up and risk pulling the wishbones out of line...
Any help appreciated.
