Hi peeps..Ive decided to change the tail pipes from the wheel barrow handles to some upswept 3"..I did find a set that had the right ends and were clamp on but even after saving to my favs i couldnt find them again so i bought these instead..They will need a reducer made as i dont like the idea of the silly clamp...plus i want it to be sealed..They just about fit through the pre-cut hole in the rear valance..Too chavi?..cheers..Ziga

Hi peeps..Well had them fitted but needed bits cut off and some bits welded on..But here they are..I will move the clamps to inside the rear valance as it needs to be un-screwed but i think they look ok..They do sound different as well...Cheers..Ziga

Video moved to wheel barrow or upswept post..

I believe that the choice of exhaust tips (or none) is a most important factor in how these engines sound. It is right up there with the choice of manifolds, silencer type, resonators (ugh) and whether it is a single or twin exhaust. Unsurprisingly these areas have more to do with sound than anything most engine mods can manage (unless one is a big fan of induction noise).

For example, tips that provide a bigger rolled edge mouth than entry (i.e 2.25" to 3.5") produce a lower, less strident rumble. Angling, exit area etc is also key for the sound someone might like. Sound is very personal touch. The Americans have a wonderful world for exhaust tip lovers. Their range of choices is astounding. They even sell brands that are fit with removable or addable baffles so you can be as loud or polite as you want for different occasions. smile Try Jegs or Summit Racing (I have no connection with them..or anything else for that matter). http://tinyurl.com/44tapxd

Thanks for that plushuit..If i had a V8 rumble i probably wouldnt need to change a thing, Well maybe a little bit..There is a saying that "loud pipes saves lives" and they do..Besides who wants a car that sounds like its running on a skinny latte and bearly breaks the 1db level?..Mine was registered at 95db at the BBWF which aint bad for a V6 and is probably pushing a little bit more now..Ive had twenty years of living the quite life and now its time to make some noise..Cheers..Ziga

PS:You have a stunning looking V8...

TY! You are very kind. I have a sad weakness for shiny metal. I have worked in too many engine bays so learned to love any that are clean, need no paint and can maintained with a pressure hose. On the practical side, it is easy to spot leaks and SWMBO complains less about my dirty clothes. laugh

For the sound... turn up your volume and click http://www.gomog.com/phoenix/phoenix.html
