Hi all,

just wondering whether you had any problems with BBWF 2011, what could be done better next year, so BBWF 2012 can be even better!

Either post up here or email me at adam_quantrill at yahoo.com or via PH with your feedback.

Cheers,

- Adam

Hi Adam..Well this is just my personal opinion..The food was delicious..Especially the cakes..The hospitality was fantastic..The dinner in the hotel was..Well lets just say the breakfast made up for it..The weather was ..Ok..Eventually..The cars were stunning..The rolling road was a let down..The route out maybe needed just a little more pre planning..The evenings entertainment was superb and the rusty's were outrageous..Ziga

Mostly positive about the event.

I liked: -

The cars
The traders who turned up
The chat
The noise
The Hog Roast
The Elvis
The chat at dinnertime
The Hotel generally
The Sunday breakfast
The way it went, whilst not appearing to be heavily organised.

I didn't like: -

Not having my car there
The odd bit of rain
No decent beer on the bar
The price of the beer that was on

Only there during the day on Saturday - big reason for going was the RR so I guess a more reliable company to make a showing (it was pretty dry from midday onwards...)
As above route planning for the drive out ......

Great cars and great company.

Again a big thanks to all the (unpaid) enthusiasts for organising and putting on the week-end.

Paul.

Me and the Mrs. enjoyed it very much. People were very friendly and we were made welcome by everyone. The hotel was brilliant and seeing so many TVR wedges in one place was awsome. I don't drink so I can't comment on the alcohol though from what I've heard and seen that too was fantastic. The food was good and we enjoyed the evening entertainment. Overall. 9/10. there is always room for improvement and we are looking forward to the next year's event. Well done to all the organisers and helpers. Keep up the good work.

It seems that the traders are a law to themselves when being booked to attend, other people make the effort to come along to see the cars and meet others with traders thrown in as a little tipple,so we come along hoping to buy the odd present to ourselves and to be top dog on the rolling road and what happens, big let down by the odd few. With their attitudes I wouldn't look to try and book them in future,go elsewhere I say. We did enjoy our day however although I reckon Phil makes a good point about opening it up a bit which in turn could improve the side attractions as they are driven by profits of course.

Maybe have a Griffgrowl vs BBWF shoot out at ettington..BHP war..Exhaust notes at dawn..Best engine cooked hog..Who can drink the most rusty award..Then in the evening we can have karaoke for the best and worst singers..Silliest dance comp..And who can eat the most cake without being sick..The traders will have to do a bit more conversing instead of just standing around like spare ccensoredks at a brothel..I used to play the sax in a band but i was new to it all and dont like being stared at which is no good if you are in a band..Some people thought i was made of cardboard..Then i loosened up and the pints stacked up on the bar.."Youve got to get into it before you get out of it"..

To be fair to the rolling-road guys: rain, rollers and computers probably don't mix.

As usual we enjoyed the Fest, cars, noise, people and having a chat to everyone [brill],but if folk are going to put a theme on Sat night then it would be nice if everyone joined in if not then just call it Entertaiment.
I dont mined paying a bit over the price for food since it's a lovely Hotel but £14 for Fish and Chips dont think so and £7.50 for a glass of wine [no way]. If they were a lot more reasonable then we probably all would eat and drink there.
Rusty's went down well.
We will be at the next BBWF 12 where ever it is.

Have to agree with johnny the bar prices are ridiculos nice hotel that it is, no excuse for prices like that. Elvis was superb and overall a very good bbwf I only go for the banter and drink so don't want to comment on the traders. Well done though Adam and Andy you could have done a lot worse.

Oh Aye can we ban the rusty nails next year as they are the devils spawn.

Hi

Would people like us to look for a different (Cheaper venue) in the South East?

The reason for asking now, is next July (The obvious date) is Olympic time and a lot of places will be getting (If not already) booked up! The chase have already hinted that we need to book early because of that!

Just out of interest is there any other place that has large car park space's,spa, cheap rooms £130 for 2 night B&B, if not i'm happy with the Chase.
Infact if its going to be a lot of hastle and time looking around then just book it at least you know you have a place to go to.

The Chase has the space and it would seem to put up with certain things. It is remote from habitation and some fine roads around it. That said the bar prices are a tad high etc (I am on the wagon anyway). Anything anywhere that can match that I think? The Olympics will basically cause all the hotels to up rates full stop. They will set rack rates to make millionaires weep. Don't forget the games have a long run up of events and organisers also getting shafted by certain establishments and events are taking place outside the big smoke.

I would like to see more traders but appreciate that you need us there the spend the loot so they come back. I do try to spend money with the traders. One year I put my car on the rollers though I had no intention (happy it was healthy) as they were not getting any takers. They soon started to pick up though so I think it was a slow morning.

Pig in a bun is a good idea, I like any animal based product that looks like meat in a bun... but pinky on a spit is a good un.

Evening entertainment. No good asking me as I think disco dancing is a form of torture and should be banned though the boss will tell me I am wrong and loves it. Elvis was superb, that was very good.

What about a hotel around the sheffield/nottingham area that would be far away enough from London to escape the Olympics. Just a suggestion. It would make the jocks journey a lot easier instead of over a thousand miles round trip. There must be a hotel round there that won't allow rustys LOL

Who would want to stay at/near Stratford to visit the Olympics - they are miles away!

Next year if at EC one idea might be to use the pub for the evening do, now it's open again. Better beer, and not as exorbitant, although it would rely on the weather being good due to it being mostly in the garden.

We did have a band there once so Mr Zig had better start "polishing his sax"....

I really enjoyed ettington..The food was pricy but if you hold the bar staff to ransom you get cheap drinks..Its easy as they have customer satisfaction cards for the young guys and girls that work there and you just threaten to write a bad one..It worked for me..7 pints..a coke..a diet coke and an orange came to £13..When trickie bought a pint and two glasses of wine it came to £9..Plus they kept the bar open for me until 3.30am..Touch..The rusty should be the national drink of BBWF..In fact hopefully next year its going to be part of the prize for something..So dix you better get used to it incase you win it..plus you gotta stop putting in your beer..hehe..
If the venue has to be somewhere else then it should ideally be a central point so the distance is fair to all..Cheers..Ziga
