In a day,he can't have seen much then,I think I'd want to make it more of an event like having a wodge of wedges travelling around the coasts of England Wales and Scotland, could sample a pasty or something from each place, would be well stuffed at the end!

It was some kind of charity run if i remember rightly. He had photoss on his desk at work with the sign posts and dates on. Must of been in summer as i remember them both been taken in daylight. Must of been a long day.

Too right. We did 580 miles in a day (well OK, 8.5 hours) in May getting from Rotterdam to Garmicsh-Partenkirchen on bikes; we didn't stop much and rarely fell below the speed limit. LE-JOG is more like 800 miles IIRC? You'd have to be on the move for 12 hours to be in with a chance... and lucky with Plod, traffic, grockles, scameras, roadworks...

Hi Rob,

Top to bottom - approx 840 miles and 14hrs drive, we were thinking at some point doing a tour of Scotland approx 900 miles, up East coast across the top of Scotland and taking our time coming down the West coast about 4/5 day holiday.
We stay up here and just take it for granted so thats why we're thinking of the tour.

I have done it in a Triumph 2500 PI with the Triumph Sports Six Club, we started out in North London on the Friday evening had Breakfast at John o'Groats on the Saturday morning and at Lands end on the Sunday morning, returning to North London by the Sunday evening.

It was run for Charity, and was good fun, we calculated you'd have to average about 40mph to do it so was not a huge rush as long as you didn't take too long over your meals, we had 3 people doing 4 hour stints driving, then navigating, and then sleeping it worked well and most of the cars made it all the way there we a few drop outs but very few and most problems were sorted on the route (we even changed a UJ on the rear after the first 1000 miles!) it was well organised and there was a support car with plenty of spares "just in case" but I believe that very few parts were used from that car over the weekend.

I have some of the run on Video (I was trying to video it all but the tapes didn't always get changed while i was sleeping!!) I'll get round to doing a time lapse of the ones I have eventually....

Just took the Missis and did it on a pushbike. Next time in the Tasmin, though it could be harder work! Good luck anyone who does it!
