My wedge has 300mm drilled and vented front discs with a single piston Mondeo caliper. The caliper is a massive heavy thing and hopefully will be replaced over the winter. However in the meantime I am trying to find pads that fit and my knowledge of Mondeos not being up to much am not sure which year and model it comes from. The only reference I can find on the caliper (in addition to the Ford logo) is the casting reference 818 and the letters ACN. I have a receipt in 2001 from Tower View for a Wedge big brake kit. My best guess so far is a Mk 3 Mondeo which I think, from the ford forums, used 5 stud 300mm discs but I am really not sure. Was this a common upgrade fitting on Wedges? The system actually works pretty well with braided lines etc. I am intending to replace calipers and rotors, one of which is slipping slightly on the hub nuts suggesting the holes are oval! What are people fitting as upgrades nowadays?
