A while ago the passenger window in my 400SE decided to part company with the window channel when I lowered the window. Investigation showed that the window channel had virtually rusted away and had no strength in it. I bought a new one from Rimmer brothers and tried to fit it today. The problem I have is, how do I get the glass into the new channel? There were two pieces of rubber in the old channel which wedged the glass into the channel. I've cleaned them up but there's no way I can get the glass and the two pieces of rubber into the new channel. I know a few of you guys have done this job yourselves from past posts. Is there some special technique to this? Short of hitting the glass with a hammer (not a good idea) I can't see any way of persuading the glass and the rubber to fit the channel. TIA
