Hi

With my extended holiday (Due to my op) I have decided to tide up my SEAC engine compartment.
The reason really is that at some time a 2 to 3 in wide layer of undersill has been applied to the bottom edge of the fibreglass in the engine compartment on top of the paint! I am slowly removing this, but I am not certain if the hoses at the front of the compartment, which run along the cross member should be on the top or bottom of it. They were on top but I keep see pics with cars having then underneath etc. Has anybody got any pics of a SEAC or 450SE showing the hoses in place, which they can send me or post up!

Thanks
Andy

Yes Ian I thought that, it has been there for some time and so far I can see that the front cross member has been damaged when the engine was removed four or five years ago! But the undersill was there before then!
I must admit I have seen this on other TVRs and the top edge is so strait and even, it must have been was done whilst the was nothing in the compartment!

Hope this helps

As you can see my oil cooler feed pipes are below the fiberglass pannel

I have what looks like a grey heat resistant cement type paste applied to the edges of the fibreglass in the SEAC engine compartment that are opposite the exhaust manifolds. Looks like this has been applied since new and is over the paint.

Thanks Campbell!

Intersting thing is your car looks like it has a similar covering (Black) as mine does!
Also Redwedge has a simlar coating, so may be it's a heat resistant covering to stop damage to the fibreglass?

Has anybody else got this or seen it?

Andy
