Looking for Thermostat parts!
Discussion
Well I recently purchased a 1985 TVR 280i and am in the process of restoring it. And as I was putting the Thermostat on my dad told me to make sure I had the recievers and relay switch tight (i believe thats what they are called) And i broke the relay switch i believe. Does anyone know of any blown motors or where to get either a new Thermostat housing, or a new relay switch? Please help, or is all this just confusing.
The one i'm talking about is the Switch towards the front that is maroonish and square. Thanks

Welcome aboard,
The 2.8 "Cologne" Ford V6 was used in the US in the 70s Mustang II and Capri (but without fuel injection) and in the 80s in the ranger pick-up trucks (again no FI). (No Pontiacs I'm afraid) It takes an old time Ford counter guy to remember all this. I went to a large dealer in Houston (one with a big racing-aftermarket department) and they couldn't find the V-6 in the Ford computer.
That being said, contact Norm at Team Blitz www.teamblitz.com He is a Capri specialist and very knowledgeable and can provide most engine parts - I bought a new water pump and thermostat housing from him and they were both made of cast iron, not the pot metal then on the car. There is also a Ranger 2.8 forum.
Some (and I emphasize "some") auto parts stores have the gaskets and fittings, but you have to pretend you have a Mustang/Capri.
You absolutly need Steve Heath's Wedge bible. Also buy the Hayes manuals for the Mustang/Capri, every now and then a needed picture or detail will appear.
There is a wealth of information on this site so do some searches.
