Best place to get bushes?
Discussion
Hi chaps, before i go to fit the avo shocks i got of combine to the front of the 450 i want to have some new bushes ready so i can do it all in one go. Where's the best place to get front arb and wishbone bushes etc? Also does anyone know what diameter my front arb should be? I am going to ask Father Christmas for some Steve Heath drop links so that can wait.
Lastly it's been discussed before i think but anyone any experience of polybushes in these areas?
Cheers Jimbo

I would havw a chat with RT Racing, TVR Power, TVR Car Parts.
The SEAC has a steel bearing on the lower wish bone and i dint have to change the upper bushes as the were ok but used polly on the ard and the control rod then from the front of the car. From what i remember i think there is 2 diamiters of roll bars... 22mm and 25mm, i know i have the25mm one so check with a steel rull for yours plus ive done a coil over conversion with renforcement a few years back on the front so nothing to wory about there.
Hope that helps

The reality is very different. As the Wedge suspension is radically different from a Chimp or the later cars, it is a bit of a stretch to simply say that such is such is best as the requirements are very different.
For the front wishbones I would use the original Ford metalastic bushes because the way that the suspension is designed (Ford Cortina) the rubber bushes are needed to provide sufficient movement to allow the suspension to move in the correct way.
The only exceptions to this are the front tie rod bush which needs a stronger material as the original rubber doesn't last long and as it wears the tie rod will move the bottom wishbone under braking and acceleration.
On the back the opposite is true. There is only the bottom wishbone (assume its an A frame) and any movement will cause the rear to hop about. Poly pushes here are ideal as the reduce this movement.
