Whilst checking the front wheel bearings today i noticed, whilst peering through the chassis towards the engine this hanging down from the upper chassis...............

I mean WTF!?

So i wondered what random things had people found in/on their wedge whilst working on them.

I opened the garage door to take the Wedge out for a spin over the weekend only to find the back tyre had gone flat. I pumped it up to drivable and took it to the tyre shop to repair. In the tyre he found an allen key had gone straight through it. I wish I had taken a picture of it. I mean I've heard of nails or screws but never an allen key. How strange.

Years ago "when I was on the spanners" (Gav loves it when I say that) I was asked to sort out a running issue on a Sierra.

Starting at the beginning I pulled the top off the air cleaner housing and inspected.

Bingo, what a mess?

It was all shredded air filter, and right in the middle there was 8 (yes eight) oily conkers?

WTF, I was confused

You probably guessed already, if not here's a clue.

I managed to get my wife to come out for a ride in my Wedge just once

Does that count?

When I bought my 400SX I found that it had over 1/2 a tank of petrol.

I found this highly unusual - most vendors sell their cars with just fumes in there... ;&(

When I bought mine it had a new MOT certificate in it.

That was pretty unusual considering the handbrake didn't work, the exhaust was leaking there was crumbly rubber where there was supposed to be bushes....I could go on!

Many moons ago in my "yoof", I bought a Mini (number 2 for me) and, as I had done some work on it for my cousin and knew the car, I didn't look it over too much before handing over the cash.

I came across a 1275GT on the way home and we started to have a little 'play'. Unfotunately, the BiB we're over the crest of a blind hill and whilst the GT carried on (with a jam jar setting off after it), I duly pulled over for a 'little chat'. They asked what was in the boot (I resisted the urge to say a spare wheel, battery and fuel tank) and honestly said that I had no idea as I had just bought it.

Upon opening, there was a pair of mouldy old football socks, a deflated rubber ring, a soggy newspaper and a even soggier copy of Razzle... Lovely!
