When i was looking to buy, i saw one in crawley.
The guy had fabricated vents into the bonnet "a la 390" (opposite corner top and bottom) to his series 2 350.
Looked okay, but it hadn't been the "best" job on what was a nice looking car. (but was passable)
He had done an excellent job on the interior too.
I was Very very close to buying it, but his haste, dropping of price (like a brick) and general demeaner made me suspicious.
So i called in the reg to a mate for a check......and it came back that the car had been a write off back in the early 90's.....and as my mate said...in the early 90's the value would have been high still, so a total payout could mean only one thing. CHASSIS !!
Shame, as all else was good
I swerved it.

Sorry for the waffle, but aftermarket can be done, i figure they just did not do it "too well".

Believe it or not, if you look closely at a 'genuine' 390 bonnet you can make out where they chopped the mould to insert the new panels with the louvres. So it's probably possible to do it about as well as the factory finish hehe

I'm going to fit them to mine to get some cold air into the inlet, and some warm air out!

I once put some vents in a 350. It was a right bugger to do as matching up with original meant very little space on edge of bonnet to glass in.
They looked good eventually but never 100 % in my opinion
