There's not many fixed head owners on here so maybe no-one has done it? Are you in the TVR car club? They may be able to help.

As far as I recall, my Tasmin just had thick beads of black sealant holding the windscreen, side glasses and rear vision panel in. My best guess is that they switched sealants to one that wouldn't stick to GRP so they used the rubber seal, edging, whatever, to give the sealant something to grip. Or it could be a later repair where Joe Public had the same issue and that was their remedy. If it works, replace like for like
