What a difference a few days makes!

Coming home from work this morning the 450 really had an appetite for the early morning air.

Defo more urgent than last week! lol

Anyone else notice a difference?

Yeah, my misfire is worse when it's cold! irked

But yes, I have noticed before, and in previous cars (espcially turbocharged ones) that the cold air does make a noticeable difference to an engine.

My 450 becomes a different car altogether when running on a cold crisp day (roof off of course)!!

Engine note sounds deeper and richer as well as getting some good popping and banging on the overrun.

Have fun!

Ditto
The best driving days are always Autumn early mornings with roof off and a BIG hat and even BIGGER grin

The reason is that cold air is denser in volume. As a result the bangs for a given fuel mixture will be bigger.
Our V8 land rover, on SU carbs is very 'moody' regarding the weather, but it gives the car some character.

Don't forget, it's the cold air, denser charge idea, that the intercooler is borne out of. Effectively a miniature radiator specifically to cool the incoming air into the engine smile

I've even heard of drag racers sticking bags of ice in the air intake before a drag run, not sure how effective that is however!
