For years I've hated it when the pod pops up for side lights. Well today I sorted the problem by tracing the wire to the switch and cutting the fker. I now have podless side lights...Bang on!!!

Give me some tips on how you did it because I have the same problem on mine and it's so annoying.

First up - you will need to remove the switch and connector from its housing. There should be 5 wires going into the light switch 2 Blue 1 Earth 2 Brown. Ignore the Blue and the Earth. Cut both Brown wires. Reconnect the switch to the connector, you should now be able to raise the pod with full and dipped beam but with no side lights with the ignition on. Get someone to stand in front of the car and switch on the lights as you would do for the sidelights with the ignition off. The sidelights should now be off - test which of the cut Brown wires activates the small sidelight including the rears with those cut from the switch by a touch connection and then reconnect the wire that activates the small sidelight to the correct wire from the switch. Tape off the remaining cut Brown wires. Test all lights including indicators, fog and brakes are working as they should with ignition off and on....job done.

Mine go down when i operate the stalk control, If its in the forward flash position then the pods stay down when i operate the headlight switch,They do lift if i just pull the stalk control towards me...Mind you i did re-connect a blue and white wire that was disconnected up at the stalk switch and only did so because it was right near the terminal and looked like it had come loose..I dont really want to start cutting wires but will at some point have them rewired as i still have a loose wire somewhere which stops the O/S headlight bulb operating high beam..I have checked the bulb..I know its a loose wire as when my O/S side light stopped working i wiggled the wires on on it came along with the high beam..Cheers..Ziga

GV. Thanks for the info. I will check mine out when I get a chance. I have a feeling like Zig says that with the main beam and dip in one position keeps the pods down with the side lights on. I remamber this confused me once but I will test it all out before I start doing any work on it. Thanks lads.
Tony.
