280 in classifieds...Theres hope for me..
Discussion
Hi peeps..Just looking throught he classifieds as you do and i spotted a 280i...Ok paint work is not too bad but the state of the engine makes me think mine is worth loads more..It looks how mine did a year odd ago..problematic..If he gets that for his then i should get £3.5K for mine and Mr T should get £4.5K for his as is...Mind you i do like the dark blue 350 with the colour matching wheels even if it has been a write off..Cheers..Ziga
Hey zig, hows it going??
It isn't the price of wedges that is too low (although technically they are), It is more to do with the owners letting them go far too cheaply.
Why are eg; TR6's worth so much, because the owners won't give them away for pennies. They are certainly no better than a wedge.
The figures you have just said are far more realistic prices, if only sellers would ask that all the time. I for one would not sell my 400 for less than 6.5k. In todays market, maybe it would sell maybe it wouldn't. But if every seller put a higher price on the car, then that would be what they are all worth. (give or take the odd basket case)
It has always been said--'it is only worth what someone will pay'. Take away the rediculously low prices, put on a more realistic one, then bang--thats what a buyer has to pay

Hi Mate..Yeah not bad thanks..Starting to enjoy the ole beast at last..I think you are right..Maybe some of the ones that have had everything done should command a higher price..I know if i had paid anymore for mine in the condition it was in i think i would of obliged with a can of and a match..When its finished it will be like a new wedge but then i will probably keep it..Sometimes its better the devil you know..Cheers..Ziga

The 280..
Mark The 280 FHC (tasmin) or the series 3 DH, come on get it correct!
Mind you which ever you mean they are both worth more than you say, to me!
That's the thing they are worth more to us than other people think!
Then saying that, they are only worth what people will pay! (very unlightend people may I say)
So let hope that the ones in good, and original condition start going up in price next spring!
