Hi I need to adjust the passenger door on the 450 as, since the full re-spray (2 years ago) it has been badly re-fitted and rather than faf about arguing the toss over the job I thought I would have a go myself to see if I can get it into a better position.
So has anyone any advice as to how to acheive the perfect door hang???

when i had the body off my 350 i left the doors on it fitted hard rubber in the joints so i could lift it, when i refitted the body the drivers door did`nt line up but what i did to fix it was more packers between the chasis plates and the floor of the body so if you try a trolly jack with a piece of wood on it and carefully lift the body in different places you might find it will imrove then you`ll know which plate to pack.

hope this helps

Hi Steve

Sorry but there no easy fix each car is different so it's a matter of trial and error!

Any way you have got plenty of time to sort it out for the NEC show in November!

It is trial and error. If you can tilt the doors upwards then you have play in the top and bottom hinge nuts which can be accessed with the correct ring size spanner. It does not need to be the TVR type tool either. IMO the door adjustment is best done with 2 people. 1 to hold the door in place - the other to deal with the tightening the relevant nuts etc.

I did my drivers side last year and its a faff but doable. if i remember correctly the bolts that hold the hinge to the body are 13mm, took me about 45 mins to get it right but glad i did.
