Yo,

Chaps, if i hold onto the gear lever whilst driving i can get a metallic, rattly, resonating sensation coming up through the gear lever. Is this normal or would it indicate worn linkage bushes or something else worn?

Cheers

I have recently had the same thing and it was indeed the bushes, i have done a temp repair, i have used a cable tie round the remote housing and a chassis rail and lifted it and got rid of the problem.

Dont go for the cable tie option.

Yep, you need patience, long arms and a good socket set.
