Well I popped into my local motor factors today and had a look at a couple of batteries as the old one was getting a little tired. I must say they have gone up a bit in price since I last looked, a hundred squids for a monster 70Ah one (might have been a bit of a squeeze to get in) or 66 squids for a standard 40Ah.

So I hummed about it for a bit and thought I would maybe shop around a bit. Went out to the car, tried to start it and it turned over once then went clickety click. Oh well, better get the credit card out ;^)

So I got the cheaper smaller one, just as well as it was a bit tight to get in, it's an 068 I think from memory, but it's made a massive difference to starting, will now get ignition while turning over whereas before would get ingition when releasing the key.

Oh well I spose I had 6 or 7 years out of the old one so that's only a tenner a year....

Adam,

Now's the time to check condition of both battery cables and connection, especially the ground!
