I was wondering, now the clocks have gone back and many of you, like me are now cracking on with with all those jobs we've been putting off during the summer: how long is the list of 'to do' jobs for your wedge this winter?

Now in order to keep this interesting i have to exclude the likes of The Hatter for obvious reasons. The list i'm talking about is for cars people have been running over the summer and not long term resto projects.

My list isn't to onerous really:

Fit new springs allround (rears done, fronts next week)
Fix handbrake (done whilst fitting rear springs)
Renew gearbox remote linkage bushes
Refurb 2x16" Tuscan OZ rims and fit with tyres
Refurb 2x15" OZ rims
Buy and fit Steve Heath rose jointed ARB drop links
Paint inside of headlamp pods
Come springtime general servicing and get it set up properly on rolling road
Get proper 4 wheel alignment and geometry sorted

Winter plans...

Get the cross-spoke alloys refurbed
Get handbrake looked at (hardly works at all)
Engine tune up
Full lube changes

Oh and start her up regularly and keep all operate all electrical items to keep them used smile

I make my list in the winter and get cracking on with the jobs during the long summer days. Its warmer, dryer and generaly more daylight. It's more fun and I can correct the jobs I've messed up the day before on a sunny day.

Move House to a house with no garage!

Well since I got sweet FA done last winter it'll be last winter's list plus some bits rolleyes

Intention was to get the bodyshell off, attack the chassis and replace bushes, brake lines (although they're CuNiFe they'd be easier to change with the shell out of the way), UJs, diff seals etc etc etc... then repair the various bits of body damage and fit the SE wheels that have been lurking in my loft for at least two years...

I don't have the time or will to type mine out here frown

It would be easier to tell you what's OK with it:

1: I can't think of anything that doesn't need fixed actually

  • Flatten the bonnet line
  • Fit rear spoiler
  • Square off all four corners
  • Install Cortina based suspension
  • Fit door bars
  • Fit lattice wheels
The Chimp will be transformed.

This is the effect I am going for, what ya think Wedgies?

Why you running 16's front and back. The chimp comes fitted with 15 fronts and 16 rears. Was it your choice to do this because going up a size on the front doesn't seem right. Also if was at all possible withoutt getting laughed at---they look better with 15f and 16r (well better than porker anyway hehe

1) Check and replace the fuel levelling hoses between fuel tanks
2) Replace the ignition parts
3) Adjust the right side lamp pod and stiff up the left one
4) Fix the left side mirror (has had a small hit)

That's about that.

Not Much to do

Strip & rebuild both pod motors to cure winking
Remove headlamp fixing plates, powdercoat & replace
Remove front calipers, rebuild & refit with new pads
Replace flexi hoses with Braided
Replace Anti roll bar links
Fit Keyless entry system
Replace rear springs with uprated
Attempt to get bent rear wheel straightened
Engine & box out to get gearbox overhauled before the whirring noise turns expensive
Investigate clonking coming from Tie bars
Fit switch to boot lid to drop antenna when boot popped
Injectors out for a service and new pintles + replace 20 year old injection hosing
Replace AFM to TB hose
General service
If I get time have a 4th go at that wonky rear hub

Think I'd better get started rolleyes
