Well the wedge has been playing up for a while(sort of) ,broke down at Bolton abbey ,could have been a number of things wrong checked them out, stripped, cleaned ,renewed the parts that could have been the problem . well turned the key and it started ,so i thought crappy weather was to blame . water getting in somewhere it shouldnt have.
well after a 1000miles of troble free blating about it give up on me, same symtons as before .couldnt blame water troubles as it havent rained for days.So asked Ian a few questions to see if i could try and trace the problem , well Ian came up with his 390 looked at my car done a few checks ,and decided to swap his ECU into my car ,car started problem found . Ian had a quick look at the ECU found what looked like the problem ,So he took the ECU away with him,on route waking the neighbours up and flame throwing the tarmac
well phoned Ian up last night to see how he was getting on with the ECU ,he said he was just about to test it out on his car ,which he did while i was still on the phone ,yep and it did start!! so had a nip over to collect the ecu.
so this morning reconnected the ecu into my car turned the key and the V8 burbled back into life took it out for a quick spin nay probs at all.
So cheers Ian on me
so anyone out there with any probs with ya wedge contact WEDG1E keep him busy at BBW !!!!!!

Y'know, it's a good job I'm not the shy retiring type...

What Neil didn't say was that the problem was a 10p component failure. Any fool could have fixed it...

No probs mate; glad to be of assistance.

yes its nice to have some one on here willing to help without having to resort to going to the dealers for a fix , yes some of them are ok its just the cost of it all and these are old cars now and its nice to be pointed in the right direction as he helped me a bit with my injection system which was ok for a while and now i have left it for a few weeks its running a bit rough on part throttle which is prob my fault as i have had the whole car in bits whilst doing the interior so it proberbly needs setting up to get it just right but thenks for your help ian...

Maybe so, but you have to carry out the correct diagnosis first!

Very true. The real experts in this are those that know what the problem is; not those that can fix it.

Is this the same chap I had running around trying to find bleed nipples for me at Croft, and then offered to take the front calipers off the wedge for me to use during the race

Cheers Ian
