Hi,

I am having my Wedge delivered tomorrow but I will still run a few checks before handing over the cash.

Anything special to check?

Headlights pop up and down
Windows go up and down
Brakes in a straight line
Changes up and down all gears without crunching
No smoke out of the exhaust when revved

Please add to the list but remember my limitations. I don't have full garage facilities, a rolling road and plug in computer ;-)

Someone said to check the fans come on when the engine gets warm. How warm? Just drive about a bit and then pop the bonnet while the engine is running?

Clonking when selecting first gear!..Feels a bit like an auto when selecting drive!!..When moving listen out for any rotational knocking..Especially the rear..No oil dripping..Not sure about the clutch fan but if it has a kenlowe electric fan it should come on just over normal or when the thermostat has opened it should also go back off even if its sitting there idling..Play in the steering column..Visibly check any engine mounts or steering bushes/Gaiters..try to get a look at the out riggers which is not particularly easy but you may be able to run your hand up above the side seals..By the sounds of it it has had an MOT and looks ok although nothing is a 100% guarantee..Ziga

windscreen delamination on lower corners of windscreen (looks ok on picture)
Slack universal joints

This may sound weird but I bought a D reg 390se years ago and I sold it as I noticed the whole body of the car was 3/4" out of alignment. I contacted TVR at the time and they said you are paying for the chassis and engine the body is just the shell of the car and was acceptable! now is that acceptable? I think not.
Didn't stop me buying a 350se, 400se or 450 SEACbiggrin

The roof doesn't look right in my opinion, it looks badly fitted although sometimes the 2 rear roof support struts wear in the pins and lose tension.
