I know this is a regular problem with these cars but i have a problem with one of my headlights. The left headlight wont move up or down and keeps blowing the fuse even though both lights come on. Could this be a problem with the headlamp motor or more of an electrical problem also how easy is it fix
Thanks Colin

Maybe the motor has seized and overloading the fuse whilst trying to move.

I agree with Wooly...

Get under the car and poke your arm through the access hole and try and turn the knob on the end of the motor, if it won't turn your motor's siezed... if this is the case you'll have to undo the gearbox spindle nut through that same access hole to get the pod up - horrible job! Once it's up you can take the motor off, take it apart and clean it to free it up; go to Wedg1es website for that.

If the knob on the motor spindle will turn then you've got an electrical gremlin. Good luck!

Just have to go through the options I guess ...

1. Siezed motor
2. Siezed mechanism (or locked against bump stop ??)
3. Broken mechanism/motor and then jammed ?
4. Wiring short

Try rotating the knob both ways in case it's a mechanism jam and not the motor....

Some good suggestions on other threads too.
(sorry I'm still a newbie, how do you post a link ?)

Just right click on the page you want to link to, click on properties, then highlight and copy the page url then paste onto your topic reply.

Job done.

Thanks for the replys ive just tried to raise the light manually and it does go up ok but its not as smooth as it should be so it looks like theres a problem with the motor or the mechanism. It looks like the light has to come out to give better access to the inside of the pod and all the workings
cheers Colin
