Very common problem.
Remove the bonnet and lay it down on something soft like old carpet etc so you don't scratch it.
Peel off the insulation and put to one side and be careful around the mesh.
Remove old adhesive and again be careful with the mesh.
Apply new adhesive and weigh down suitably around edges in particular and leave for 48hrs.

Mines held on with blobs of juicy fruit...I wouldnt go taking it off..I did this once on a rover that i had and the paint turned a different shade to the rest..I didnt care too much about it but if it was the wedge i would of!!..You can try high grip adhesives but any adhesive wont stick if its still greasy..If you are thinking of replacing it then ideally you will need to take the bonnet off..(A two man job)..But going by some of the posts as regards to putting it back on people have experienced cracking where the struts are...You should be able to buy under bonnet insulation from good suppliers..Car builder solutions are ok..Cheers..Ziga

Mine fell off too, so I removed the bonnet and placed it on an old duvet (honest). Cleaned off the oil reside using Isopropanol. Then coated both the bonnet and the mat with a good coat of car builder solutions High Temp adhesive.
Left some weights on it over night and it's held OK for the past 12 months.
Make sure you leave the garage doors open, the fumes from the glue don't half give you a funny head

One corner of the felt curled down on mine. I put evo stick on both surfaces with the bonnet in place, once the glue went tacky I pressed it down and trapped it with a hard back book and a long stick with the weight of the bonnet resting on it. Couple of hours later it was stuck and has been since.

ITS A TWO MAN JOB TO TAKE THE BONNET OFF THESE BABY;S
No it's not..... perhaps I've got long arms, but I've never had any trouble.Put rags into the 'troughs' on each side.
Undo the pivot bolts, let bonnet drop onto rags.
Unclip the struts, keeping hold of the bonnet.
Lean over the nose, one hand on each side of the bonnet.
Lift off, gently put it down on the floor/against the wall (more rags of course)
as they say in the manuals 'refitting is a reverse of removal' ...
I removed my bonnet stripped the old glue off then applied evostick hi contact adhesive to both bonnet and foam left for 15 minutes then put the foam onto bonnet lay it on an old duffet with some weights and its been 2 years now with only a little bit of lift on a couple of the edges so far so well pleased.
