There are a few methods for dealing with a stuck clutch.

Best one is to get it out onto the road (push it out in neutral) then get someone to tow it.

Before the towing stick it in gear (1st or 2nd will probably give most engine braking) and then press the clutch fully down and keep it there.

The clutch should free up, then take it for a drive to get it properly free.

If it was laid up inside a shed or garage, you might be able to free it simply by selecting first gear, wedging clutch pedal down (a block of wood or similar) and rocking the car back and forwards, with a mate or two if you happen to be smaller than average....there will be a distinct 'clunk' when it releases. Done that with several vehicles in the past.

Do make sure the clutch release mechanism is actually working first, just in case !!

Years ago I had an old Toyota field car for ragging around, the clutch seized on that if left for a couple of months. I would start the car up in neutral to warm it up, then shut it down and start it in gear, drive along with the clutch pedal depressed then slam the brakes on. Worked every time.

The monkey method is simply to put the box in 1st, stand on the brake and clutch pedals and try the starter.

or neanderthal method, jack rear wheels off the ground, put in gear, run engine up to 1000-1500rpm, drop jack down eek....just make sure someone is in the drivers seat to be able to slam the brakes on incase the clutch plate does not release.

If the driveline survives that you know your good for Santa Pod wink

When mine stuck I tried the rocking the car in gear method and Wedg1es monkey method but neither worked. I ended up putting the back end up on axle stands, starting the car in first gear, left the clutch peddle alone and then kept revving the engine. I was absolutely cacking it because the wheels were obvioulsy spinning and if it came off the axle stands then I'd be straight into the garage wall, but it worked.

I've had this with my previous car, jacked it up and sprayed liberal amounts of brake cleaner in the clutch housing. That solved it for me.

My advice would be to jack the back two wheels off the ground support the car on sturdy axle stands start the car up in gear - 2nd or 3rd should do - depress the clutch pedal raise the revs to 2500 rpm and then hit the brake pedal keeping the clutch pedal pressed down - always worked for me.
Cheers
Ian

Fair enough! If you get the chance then give it 1500 revs and hold it on the brake while riding the clutch in gear (imagine a hill start). Do this for 10-20s at a time and this will clean up the surfaces a bit without leaving the garage.
