I am going to be splitting my wedge soon as I am rebodying it.
This will leave me with everything from a whole body shell, good hood right down to the switch gear.
There aren't enough of these items on the market to gauge the price properly.
Do you just ask for offers, stick on as much as you think you can get away with or use some other method?

Hi mate...Well..I dont think sticking on as much as you can get away with is a good start!!..What you need to do first is decide if you intend posting bits off or for collection as you need to cover any postage..Normally people email if they want to purchase bits off of someone and they negotiate a price between them..A lot of the time its a matter of helping out someone in need..Its also down to condition of the parts for sale..Toggle switches..Good working order..£5-£10..Seats in used condition £150-£180 + postage..Probably more if they have been retrimmed and show signs of little wear!!..Hood ?..Not sure if they fit another wedge once stretched??..Mostly its down to what people want to pay..What its worth to them..There are some guidlines if you search for some bits on-line that you intend selling..It might be worth once dismantled keeping an eye on the forum to see if anyone needs what you have as well as putting it up on the wedge parts hoard list...Good luck..Ziga

We did a tot up last year and worked out that a wedge was worth around 3k as spare parts.

The main challenge is storing the stuff until someone needs it.

Little while ago I thought about buying a "lighty" written off S2 to break. Keep a few handy bits myself and cover cost of car selling the rest.
While every part has a value, it could take a long time to find that one person who wants that particular part.

From what I read on here and similar places I came to the general conclusion that most owners are now in a position where, for example, a front caliper needs replacing they'll go for new, gauranteed recon or upgrade. The market for s/h standard parts is mainly only for un-obtainable parts (unless they would be an up-grade to another model, Chim rear discs to an S for example)?

Chap I know who did break an S ended up giving the shell away, nobody wanted it.

So, my advise (for what its worth) would be what would you pay for each part ?

Even this has two catagories, yours has broke and you need one desparately to make the ferry to Le Mans in two days time or, if cheap enough it would be handy to have as a spare?

There's always Ebay, in theory they will find their own "value" scratchchin

Thanks zigzag - if you are after a pair of seats just let me know. Mine aren't too tatty

I was thinking of trailering all the spare bits I had up to the BBWF and doing a car boot (and rest of body) sale sort of thing. Lets people poke about and see the exact bit they need. What do you guys think?

Hi Mate..Could of done with the seats a while back..Ive managed to fit some now though..Thanks anyway...Taking bits to BBWF might not be a bad idea..Not sure about the shell though!!..You could just take all the smaller items and then take loads of pics of the rest..We had a bit of an auto-jumble last year and it would probably be a good idea to try to make it more prominent each time although it might be best if you try to get more interest or potential buyers before you cart it all there as you may be taking it back home with you!!..When do you plan to start dismantling..Cheers..Ziga

3rd weekend in Feb is the big spanner moment.

I might start a thread in classified with a list of the bits, a photo of each and then let people bid/buy them for either collection in Southampton of at the BBWF. I don't want to get in trouble for selling in this forum.

I have a double garage and an attic so storage of most bits isn't too much of an issue although the body shell might be a squeeze through the attic hatch ;-)

Thats not a bad idea mate..As for selling bits on here you are generally ok as long as you are not a business or promoting one!!..Ziga

wca - what are your veneers like? Mine are cracked and de-laminating as is normal. Don't suppose you've got a clean set by any chance?

Just about to set up another run of dash veneers for the 350 and all the SE models, as long as you dont mind sticking them on as once fitted they really smarten up the inside.

I need a set for a 350 currently under restro.
