Keeping the wedge and another tvr...
Discussion
Hey all,
I've always said I will never sell the wedge with all the time and money I've put into making her like she is, but I am selling both the Merc w123 and the rolls Royce to get a curvy tvr....I think it's going t be a tamora.
The question is, should I keep the wedge too...I know I will struggle to buy another wedge like mine with everything sorted except the paint but I don't want to neglect it once I get a new tvr...
I've had her 6 years now and loved it but unsure if I should share the love and let someone else carry the love on...
Nightmare!!

Hi Matt
It's a pain Knowing what to for the best, the wedge gets under right your skin, i dont know why.
I am facing the same sort of dilema, my 400 sits in the garage, no MOT, s/s exhaust headers to fitted and a little continuing problem with the engine (nothing to stop it from being driven) and i never get round to it as i am always out in the 350. Something got to give !!!!
As i also pay company car tax having a company car and never use the bloodly thing privately !!
But still i dont what to part with either 350 or 400
But i hanker after a older TVR to do up as a resto.
Matt you have some smashing motors to sell on, some lucky folks are going to be pleased.
Keep the wedge, keep the force.

You will probably love the Tamora as it goes like s
te off a shovel, handles really well and looks (from certain angles) like a mean mother. It will start ok, corner ok, stop on a dime, most things will work, it will be tight, better screwed together, less rattles, better designed(?) and I guarantee 110% of the pimp-my-ride Saxo crew will do a double take as you roll on by, giving the Tam same admiring looks that they would give a new Ford Fiesta Sport as they dream of owning it, lowering it and covering it with f
king stickers!
What you will be lacking is the drama, exclusivity and noise. When I stupidly sold my 450SE for a Griffith journeys became just......BORING for want of a better word. Everything worked, it handled really well, cornered like a dream, stopped when you pressed the brakes!!! just like a modern car. After a while I even stopped looking back at it after I had parked it up!!
Its horses for courses and a lot of people consider Wedges as something to move on from to getting a 'better' and 'newer' TVR but sometimes newer ain't better by a long shot. The I.T. guys, hairdressers, accountants and Chimp owning Account Managers ain't quite figured that one out yet!

Hi Matt-man I own a wedge 350i and have done for the last 7yrs the longest I have ever owned a car. I've always had fast cars and owned over 100 through my driving years but always got bored and wanted something newer and faster. However I just can't bear to part with my wedge. Shes well sorted and has hardly cost me anything over the years, nothing sounds or draws attention like it. I purchased a V8S just over a year ago and also couldn't at the time justify having 2 TVRS, both are in privately rented garages. I was worried about giving them both good used but find alternating weekends work well
Hence I still own 2 tvrs and will continue to do so for as long as I can.
The wedge still draws the most attention, nothing can beat the looks, noise and the "what the hell is that" expression on people's faces.
So get the Tamora while you can but keep hold of the old girl till you don't have a choice or the speed six goes bang!

Hi all,
Thanks for all your messages, and all having the same thought!!
As I said in my original post, I don't want to sell but I don't want her to get neglected...I think I might jus can the idea of the tamora for a while and carry on with my ideas of respraying and a general refurb of the wedge...
My tvr is so well sorted it would be silly for me to sell it unless I have to..if anyone wants a well sorted w123 then let me know! She needs to go!
Watch this space all, think I'm going to catapult some time and money at the wedge...!!

My two penneth' worth,
Buy the Tamora or which ever, run it for a good month or two, decide if it's all you thought it would be, then choose whether or not to sell either of 'em.
Matt - I'd do this ..Buy the Tamora or which ever, run it for a good month or two, decide if it's all you thought it would be, then choose whether or not to sell either of 'em.
In fact - I had the SEAC and them bought a T350c and had that for a daily driver for a year and sold it.
Kept the wedge.
It's a keeper.
