I am trying to source a new / reconditioned airflow meter for the SEAC. The one fitted is a LUCAS 2AM unit. I have tried E bay and other search engines but can't find a flow meter with that number. I believe the unit was fitted to the XJ6 but the ones on e bay are a different number. Anyone know where I may get one or if there is an alternative unit?

Why, what's wrong with it? There's not much to go wrong, it's usually people monkeying with them that kills them... and even then it's usually recoverable. Have a look at this:

and see if it helps.

I was told that you could fit this to an EFi Rover V8 to give more power
Hmmm, if only it was that simple!

Thanks for al the help and suggestions. The symptons are when the engine is cold it is difficult to keep running and is easily stalled. When it has stalled it is the very difficult to restart and the engine needs cranking over for about 30 seconds before it will fire up again, at which time black smoke etc comes from the exhaust.

"X works" in Kirkham look after the car and have tried several different things to correct the problem which they now believe to be AFM related.

I will have a go at the servicing operation described in the article before I buy a new meter.
