With the Renault Fuego rear light units being in a short supply these days has anyone carried out a conversion to different lights on the rear of there wedge ??
If so, can you post up some pix to see what it looks like.
Or if anyone knows of a company that has undertaken any mods like that.

Dave.

Hi Sean,

Its not really that I am looking to buy new Fuego lights at the moment as the ones on my car are OK.
Just thinking ahead to when there aren't any available and if there are any decent looking modifications to convert to.

Hi Mate..I thought these looked pretty cool.. http://thumbsnap.com/V686khBL
I was thinking about it for my 280 after seeing a capri with it done but have found a similar set of LED rectangle ones instead..
Heres the topic link to the round rear lights..Cheers..Ziga

Cheers for the link Ziga. I was thinking about round lights myself, similar to Ferrari/Corvette.
The front end conversion looks good too.
Has anyone thought about fitting Fiat Coupe headlights ?? Might be too curvy for the wedge though.

Dave.

This is a picture of mine that I posted recently. I inherited these and I believe that they are upside down BMW.

Hi Henry,

Thanks for posting the pic.
I think you are right by saying that they are upside down BMW. I have an E46 B3 Alpina and they look very similar to them. Have to check it out properly over the weekend.

They look good henry...The wedges look cool with round or rectangular light clusters..They definitely are a car for the future..I dont think they will ever really look like an old car even when they are...Ziga

A little more work and cost but has anyone thought of LED transplanted rear lamps?

Looks like the ones fitted to Henrys car are E36 coupe lights.
Would need a bit of glass work to fit correctly but looking at Henrys car it looks to be worthwhile.

I had a pair of those to strip and install the innards but looked at possibly using the whole light. It has a curve on the outside which matches the Fiat wing but not the straight Wedge. Looked most odd. The other difficulty was maintaining the minimum headlight height meant that the light had to be well back and the back would have been under the bonnet. So never got past the looking stage with that idea.

Thanks for the input MJG. Saves going down that route then if I wanted to change to fixed lights.
Strangely enough, SOTW is a Fiat Coupe this week.
