400SE Ignition switch
Discussion
Hi Mate..Can you get a part number off of it..You will need to take the cowling off the ignition and remove..(Pull out)..the switch..The part number should be stamped on the side/edge of it..It will probably have something like 157SA printed on the white plastic top part but that wont find the specific part..As i found out..If its a lucas part with the number 30563 then your in luck as i have just put one on ebay but will remove it if it fits yours..Cheers..Ziga

Well the switch on my old 400 SE (1989) was a Ford Orion ...... Remember them!!!
Yep turned out to be a Ford type, hunted everywhere for one with the same part number online but no joy, ebay had a few Ford ones but delivery was over 2 days and I needed one this weekend. Had a nosy around a scrapyard today and many mid 80's to mid 90 Fords have the same body behind the key housing but different wire connections, some go into the fuse box body but I found that a Ford Ka had the male/female terminals so £3 and 10 mins effort a nice used switch. Decided to go through the electrics while doing the karma sutra under the dash and tidy and solder any bad looking connections. Also going to replace all the starter, battery and alternator connections plus a new battery to starter wire.Cheers for the advice
