Having some bother trying to locate an oil filter for the 400. I've looked at previous threads for some info. The closest i got is a champion C145 for a '89-94 Range Rover?
The filter on the car is big!(it's called a Crosland 532, if that helps?) approx 5-6" tall whereas the champion from Hal'sfrauds is 4" in height. The diameter does seem the same.
Would this new filter screw on and fit? Obviously i don't want to remove the old filter if it doesn't, or even to compare

Thanks, Wayne(ster)

Thanks guys..
Another thought has occurred to me. The previous owner had the car serviced 13 months ago, new filter and oil etc.. but has only done 200 since. Would it be ok just changing the oil this time? The oil does look really clean, but would give me piece of mind when

IMHO no. It's just not worth it. I usually pay £7 or 8 for a filter. They need to be the longer type to house the non-return valve since it's mounted upside down. I think that I can bring some to BBWF if you like.

Thanks for the offer Jonathan but i've finally DONE IT
I purchased a filter from the TVR centre Barnet!! What anightmare getting the filter off though, i think an Icelandic strongman must have fitted it.
I ended up banging a screwdriver through it..which initially resulted in the filter casing tearing Alls well in the end, i finally removed it without risking having to prime the oil pump.
So old oil out, and lovely clean 15w/50 Mobil 1 in

Where mine gets serviced and nice shiny filters get fitted. Well worth a look and visit if you can.

PS my oil gets done every 3000 miles
