20w/50 in mine. Brand is irrelevant, it doesn't get worked hard in my car and I change it before it wears out anyway.

I have that as well. Make sure you do the change quickly otherwise you may have to re-prime the oil pump...

Castrol also do a "classic" range for older cars.

The other thing to look out for is sufficient metallic additives to suit the engine, valve guides especially. There have been cut down in recent years in modern oils.

V8 Dev advised me to use either the valvoline vr 1 or millers 10/60 if I could get it,so I use the millers. They should know coz they built the engine. My local independent motor shop can get the stuff .

Try Mobil 1 motorsport,15w50 gets round the nanny state regs for zinc by being for use in motor racing,I use it in my Lotus, old twincam engine and my 350,both flat followers so need all the slip slidey zinc they can get,Millers are playing with the idea of a fully synthetic oil that covers the classic car needs but as yet it is not out there.

Prob good advice then matey. I do have fully synthetic in her at the moment so best not to mix with mineral. I will wait until oil change in May.

Yeah it is pricey, but then again your engine is the most important part of the car.

I never skimp on oil.

The best is good but I want it to bed in a bit before using it.
