Has anyone put a AJP in a wedge before?

As I'm thinking of putting a 4.2 AJP into 400SE or should I put it in the racer.

I realy want a ajp for the garage to play with, proberly rebuild it and mave it as a display to start with or fit into the Taimar when i rebuild her.
Leigh...if the 400 is off the road then get it fitted in there with an emeral and a t5 box. there will be more room to get the manifolds to scavage properly...wood be realy neat.

Well I'm getting the ECU with the engine, so at 1st I'll run the standard ECU, plus getting the standard manifolds, so will also try and use these.

I will be fitting it with a T5, that I already Have. just need to get a cosworth selector for it.

I do have an emerald, so maybe get it set-up on that once I want a bit more power wink should be at least 350BHP with std ECU smile

When you get used to it I have a blower that will fit that nicely... you should be good for 500bhp then ;^)

I think you will find that...that cerbra was not a normal 4.2, that car had a larger engine that was given to the reporters some thing to go hoo at and it did.
Still a quick car neather the less.
Get the engine fitted to the road car and leave the cheaper rover in the racer hehe

AJP's sound awesome.......ok not on tick-over but once on the move they will blow your mind with the pops and bangs from exhaust!!

as for power its regarded that the original manifolds restricted the power but due to space in cerbera there was no option.

early cerbera's as in video were actually called GT's and ran 4.5's and also 4.2 cerbera's after 2000 had 4.5 bottom ends!!!!! confusing i know, 4.2's between 97-2000 had a tendency of snapping cranks so the preferred fix was to fit 4.5 bottom ends, the tell tail sign is that the oil dip stick is moved from back right on 4.2's to front right on 4.5.

to be honest wether its a 4.2 or 4.5 they are bloody powerful and going to make the wedge weep but luv to see the results lol

Leigh,

brilliant idea smile

Serious question - will the rear drive shafts take the power ?

It's been done on here with a Griff (CliveF) .. nice job too

Not true, as far as I'm aware.

Autocar had N244KCW on test and were so shocked by the performance, they rolling roaded it to confirm that TVR hadn't provided some kind of factory special as a press car. The figures were bang on the money, 350bhp and 320 lb/ft.

Well it's going to have the same sort of Power as your Engine 350+ but less torque, due to being a higher reving engine.

Does anyone know the limit of for bigger SE drive shafts ?

As for the drive shafts i think they will take the power as im sure Steve Heath has been running the SE drive shafts with the.large yokes like my SEAC with way more power that the best ajp and not give up on sprinting...
I would have thought if the are in good nick and the same as the prop then im sure it will be fine. the diff will take a lot before letting go too.

The torque limit will be the tyres sticking to the road - once they let go the drivetrain will be under less strain.

So you will probably need some 245's on the back to make the most of it...
