Looking in the engine bay from the o/s Bolted to the side of the pedal box is a small black box with a plunger and 2 yellow wires coming from it. I was messing about fitting ma new stepped and noticed the plunger on the box quite sensitive. Could this be one of my running issues. If so is it hooked up via the ecu. If not then surely I could do away with it and join the wires or something so it still runs. As I ain't replacing any more parts under the bonnet.

So can i get by without.. I think i can. I understand the safetly reasons its there, but i need to know is it wired to the ecu, or can i just disconnect it.. The shuggely plnger when touched ever so slightly makes the car a little spluttery.. Maybe its the cause of my running issues.. Then again maybe not, but disconnectling it will rule it out...

I have an inertia switch that looks identical (I think Range Rover but not 100% cert)
Connections are simply one wire in and out. Therefore to bypass you need to simply connect the wires together.
Inside it's just a spring loaded latched plunger that unlatches and breaks the circuit under 'shock' conditions. Push it back in to re-set

If its an inertia switch I could do with one of those to break contacts to fuel pump.

Well if that's the case. It's gonna be disconnected.

Looks like some V8 wedges have these as an optional extra.
