Great mistakes in motoring:

Going from tuned rover v8 in fibreglass to 6 cyl slug with pretence. God, if I had my time over again. Anyone wanna buy their girlfriend a well maintained xjs? My mrs loves it. Timing probs which may be down to ecu and no fun atall changing down.

They have me on suicide watch

(Ste - "Gandalf the White"? Sorry Jan, but have I helped to create a monster?!)

Sorry to hear such despair, I really did hope that the land of the long claws would be a welcoming one but it appears not to be?
I do hope there is something positive to have come out of the experience for you as I feel guilty enough particularly having had such a good time over the weekend at the BBWF
If its any consolation first fuel consumption is in 20.73 mpg!

Send me some pics of the big pussy I`m sure its a beaut?

Other bad news is I am about to put Made In Japan onto minidisc tomorrow!! Oh cruel world.

Looking for Chimaera while Vera gets sorted. Nice 1986 twin plenum 3500 Vitesse on autotrader though - the one that got away...

18 - 22 was my mpg range Ste so that's about right.
As for pics, they may be of a handshake as I take a loss on the smegging mog.

Keep on keepin on you Saviours of the Cathedral of Wedge

Thanks Ste, but I've also read that you need to spend £20k on one to minimise the outlay afterwards, bit like an e type. Another 4.2A8 would be nice, smoothe, torque just keeps on flowing, but so does the cash if you dont get the right one. I just need a lie down and think about things for a while. It's and for a few days from inside my while I gather my forces. Speak to you in a few weeks when the dust has settled. Tatty bye!!
