390 Vented bonnets 400 etc........

Hi all.Iknow the lated cars had the vented bonnets .Does it improve the performance .Cold air over air flow meter .letting hot air out etc.Has any one got one for sale.just a thought.Have to run it past the wife first.lol.......Thanks Mike 350i s2

It'd take some experimenting to prove either way, but I reckon it's just a fashion accessory...

Well it might improve the performance a little if they're located over the air induction filter. The colder the intake air the better.

Hi Mate...I think if the filter was housed in a filter type box with the top half fixed to the vent so that when it closes the lid is the seal between the box and the vent then it might show significant results, Im sure some TVRs had this?...Or a filter in a box with a cold feed to it might be a solution as well..Here is a K&N example but they are not cheap but it might give you some ideas...Cheers..Ziga

Any Performance improvement = No, I bought a second hand bonnet on ebay had it delivered to work, then took it to my paint man, then told the wife

Bit like the device to keep the boot shut when the latch fails.
