Several of the posts made me laugh out loud. And several more were informative and well reasoned opinions about stuff that matters.
In fact, I didn't see much in the way of negative rubbish at all.
I haven't actively posting on PH for long, but I do understand why Ted has to be careful, so I'll go with the flow. However I do find censorship without explanation irksome, so I'll try to resurrect uk.rec.cars.tvr on usenet which is an unmoderated newsgroup and not susceptible to the arbitrary removal of peoples ramblings. Anyone else who likes free speech is welcome to join in there as well as continuing to use Ted's excellent forums here on PistonHeads. For those who don't know how to drive a newsreader, Google runs a newsgroup service and the TVR group is here:

Come off it tallbloke, I can remember some pretty negative comments (as well as the reasonable discussion.)
It gets unreasonable for example when people ask for names and companies to be flagged up on a public forum.
Had a look at the google thingy, sorry but it's very difficult to read IMHO, can't see it working!

It would have been unreasonable if anyone *had* named names on Ted's forum, but no-one did. Anyway, wouldn't it have been more reasonable to simply remove any posts which overstepped the mark, rather than censoring the entire thread and chucking out the baby with the bathwater?
If I recall correctly, (difficult now the thread has been censored I know) The person who asked for the name and company happens to be the TVRCC R.O. for yorkshire. Next time I see him I'll ask if he was just being a bit of a wag or whether it was a wind-up to try to get the thread killed.

Now that really is negative rubbish!
However the google groups system is slow to put up new posts because they don't really want the world and his dog using their site to post to usenet, it's more of an archiving service - OK for viewing past posts, not really for live chat.
Try using a free newsreader such as Xnews.

Or even the newsreader built into Microsoft Outlook or Outlook express which nearly everyone already has got installed on their computer...
I'm sure some will feel it worth the effort of learning something new for true freedom of expression.

Guys there really is no need to think this is some kind of anti free speech/company owner conspiracy. The problem as I understand it was that the thred had moved towards an area that is against PH posting rules. No-one has the time to go through & edit so understandibly the whole thred goes.
Sitting largely on the fence (which is a miracle that it doesn't collapse under me
) there were numerous doughnuts being done throughout the day, all successful bar one 
- that particular individual is actually a trained stunt driver 
- he put on a display for our entertainment which he was succeeding at until on exiting the carpark at the end of the display the tyres gripped unexpectedly and sent the car off course - in attempting to correct it eh voila one V8 in a Nissan (not many mechanics have attempted or succeeded in that 
).
As anyone would, he gave his details to reception & left a note on windscreens. The owners were fine about it as thankfully their cars only received a couple of scratches. No-one was hurt (nor another Tiv) which is the main thing. The damage to the Chim looks worse than it is but is costing him dearly & quite rightly so. The owner of the car was fine with it & actually laughed when he heard. There were other TVR drivers (ahem) who went off course during the day but thankfully didn't harm themselves/their cars or anyone else.

This is the whole point. He shouldn't have been wheelspinning into a parked up area where people were standing. Full stop.
Tyres gripped unexpectedly - well he'd just spent 5 minutes warming them up throwing donuts, you'd think a trained stunt driver might have expected some extra grip n'est pas?
Have you spoken to the owner of the car, or did the report of his mirth at having his car crashed come from stunt-chump?

What would he have to gain by lying given the circumstances. He made a mistake and accepted it on the chim
