Hmmm... you must be round here somewhere. If it's of any help, we could perhaps arrange for you to take a look at some of our Wedges, so you know what to look out for (or avoid
).
Off the top of my head, there's Graham with his '83 registered (but 1979-built) Tasmin Series 1 fixed-head (the factory demonstrator), Neil with the '86 350i, Steven with an '86 280i in American trim, me with an '87 390SE and Michel with a '91 400SE (complete with Nitrous
but in bits for a rebuild). There's also a (circa-'82) green 280 FHC somewhere in darkest Billingham. I've seen a gold 400SE once but it may have just been visiting. One of the staff at Cleveland Cables used to have a 350SX (supercharged) but I think he sold it a while back.
Good luck with the search, keep us informed!

Hello again. I've just arrived back after trip down into South Yorkshire to pick up 350i that I viewed last week. Very happy with it. Seems like a lovely car but such a dissappointing day (weather wise), it didn't really take the edge off my exitement though.
Sounds gorgeous and looks great. I'm off to Halfords in the morning to pick up some stuff to clean up the leather. I've been told Autoglym leather products are good. When I pulled over at one point on the way back, the rain was forming a grimey solution on the door trims. I rubbed at it a bit and it instantly appeared cleaner. i figured a couple of hours with some special stuff would work a treat.
BTW I live just outside of Stokesley so you may see me around now.
I will mostly be wearing Cobalt Blue fibreglass with a mohair hood.
Hope to be able to join in with some meets etc.
Cheers.

Hi Selmer: glad to hear that you got sorted!
The 'cream' 350 near you is currently in bits having top-end surgery, so you may not see Neil around for a brief period.
We'll have to get some beers on once you're not afraid to be seen in public
in fact we had a bit of a get-together at the Bay Horse (Gt. B...) a couple of weekends back; we had a Chimaera, Cerbera, M series, Vixen, two Wedges and a Lotus
... and no doubt this lot'll be clamouring for some pictures of your beast to be posted on here...
Ian
Edit: yup, I use the Autoglym leather care stuff too.

Thanks for the welcome.
i was in Halfords this am trying to decide if the expensive but tastefully packaged Autoglym was better than the 2 for 1 offer on Turtlewax products. In the end I rang my dad and asked his advice --- this is all new to me.
I'll try to make next informal meeting Gt. Broughton is only 10 minutes away. I'm not sure if you use that spot regularly.
