what is this??

could someone please tell me what this is, its a lucas part and my guess would be its some sort of ignition lumenition thingy but i thought they were to convert points! it was tucked up under the dash with the fuse/relay board and wired into fuses and relays.

As it's a 400SE (not a 350i like your handle) I would tend to agree...

I've had the dash out on my 350 and I can't say I've seen one on mine,my guess is something to do with an alarm or imobiliser perhaps,mine has a Jr alarm with a box and wires etc probably retro fitted by a previous owner.

It has heatsinks on it so dim-dip would be a good guess.

yes i know got to change name!!
my first tvr was a black 350i and that's where the name comes from, had about 10 since then!
