Any other Wedgies thinking of tagging along?

I would love the run out and join another convoy around the Warwickshire countyside in TVR company

BUT £15.00 per person for parking!!!

Is this common practise for TVRCC events?

Not strickly £15 for parking, you do get a souvenir, free entrance to the museum as well and is for both days. Don't forget P&P is £50 for an afternoon!

£15 per car would be kinda ok (well not really but eh not much is free in this life)

But per person?

Smacks of being a tad greedy in my book

Also paying for two days is irrelevant if you can only make the one day!

I think I can see the reason they struggled to get many takers at the last event

Greedy - hmm - non-profit so who the hell do you think is getting the 'surplus'?

FFG & MrsFFG have managed to pull together a meet at £15 per head for 2 days entry (£16 normally) including a commemorative thingy for which credit is fully due. Having arranged similar things, they get full respect as these exercises are usually a complete pain in the 4r5e, so I don't care if it's an engraved lolly stick, it's still cheap, and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to either try organising an event or belt-up.

Personally I think another item for the shelf is superb, as a number of events recently gave 1 'thingy' per car, and as my kids will also get one I'm paying for all of us as it's part of your memories.

As a new Wedge owner (with suffolkfoxy) would love to see loads of others for comparison if nothing else, so hope to see (non-whiners) there. For the rest, I suggest the exit door.

Your point? As one event has been free (and from the look of it very successful so no criticism intended as I wish I had been there myself) it does not follow that others must also be. BBWF got you access to what as part of the event? A hotel? Surely there is room for a mix, or have all TVR owners suddenly taken the Scrooge outlook? If so, moving the cars from A to B could be fun on the non-free fuel. I am more puzzled as to why a request for others to join someone for a run-out was in the same sentence criticised. 'I'm going but I want to moan about it' seems an odd line to take.

Thanks for the support Dickymint - not!. Guess you've not arranged any events. It really gets on my threepenny bits when the odd person keeps bangig the same drum - we had one in the Griff forum too. You said it once now butt out.
I wanted to come to the BBWF but had already booked for Oulton Park. We were thinking about you lot though and wished the weather had been a bit kinder.
We had to charge as the dedicated parking area was £500. The £15 did cover the 2 days and included 2 gifts and unlimited entry ove rthe weekend to the museum. The TVRCC had no involvement other than to provide public liability insurance, handle the finance side and provide a few raffle prizes.
We set the £15 charge and I though this was fair value for what you got. 99% of the feedback has been positive so I think we got it right.
We won't see you in Cardiff then as it isn't free.
I guess you can't please everyone.
Thanks for the support suffolkfox and the team.

Flipflop - I think Dicky and others here thought that your £15 cost was an admin charge from the TVR CC .. you have never mentioned (or I did not see it !) it in the forums.

I did think that maybe Gaydon had made a charge ..

We (BBWF) organisers were just very lucky and happy that the hotel we used let us use their grounds for free.

There are quite a few other threads where i have posted well wishes to the Griff Growl including i belive on the TVRCC forum.

Just wondered why you felt you had to "revive" this thread! Especially as the event is over!
You dont need to justify what you got for the money my comment merely stated that BBWF was free.

The fact that i stated it twice was to do with the "attack" i had from SuffolkFox.

Once again, I wish all future Growls well. But dont come onto a Wedge forum without expecting some idle BANTER

Steady boys, these were two different events at different venues and both were successful IMHO and well attended (I went to both)

I'm sure Dickymint meant no offense as he is one of the most enthusiastic TVR owners I have ever met. His original post was afterall slightly tongue in cheek, note the smiley.

Both events success relied on people putting themselves out and the welcome pack received from the Growl proved an enormous amount of work went into the planning. Routes, Optimax, raffle, a quality gift and more, I personally found the charge acceptable even though I could only attend for few hours and didn't get chance to go round the museum (Darn pesky kids) FFG and Mrs FFG you did good.

I think we can learn and use some of the ideas for next BBWF, I will be showing the pack to Rev and all next week.

BTW the weather at BBWF was actually great in the end.

We put a hell of a lot of our own time and money into this and just feel that any abuse is a direct attack on us.
Probably due to the immense stress we put ourselves under.
I didn't revive it, simply wasn't aware, as we have been so busy tying up loose ends over the past few weeks.
Don't know whether I would do it again - certainly not at the moment.
Shame there weren't more Wedges there.
It would have been great if we could have done something free but we said we would try it once and see if a 2 day event would work. Personally, I was disappointed in the poor Griff turnout (around 70 on the Sunday). If we had got 100 there were 2 national magazines willing to cover the event which would ave been great.
No hard feelings and end of subject from me.
I won't crash the Wedge forum again.
I have got a Taimar too but never post in there.

FFG et al

Have a

As has already been said I am certain that we can learn from each others experiences

A hotel works well because of the proximity of the bar

The raffle seemed an excellent idea

etc
