Re. jacking up the front end of my recently acquired wedge, - the most useful area to position the trolley jack under (after running the front wheels onto timber joist offcuts) would seem to be the large cross member that carries the suspension at each end. This has a nice flat plate bottom, so using a piece of timber to protect the metal from contact with the jack head seems ideal. I would then use axle stands under the main tubes.

I am puzzled though, why in Steve Heath's manual this is not mentioned as a prefered jacking point.
Can anyone confirm that it is ok to use this - I don't want to risk distorting the chassis!

The BBWF on the 18th was absolutely brilliant, my thanks to the organisers Karen & Neil and others, + Streaky with the camera.
Rev-erend - the southern convoy from J4 was not to be missed, me and missus Colonel enjoyed the 70 mile drive through those nice quiet villages - we will remember that for a long time!
Look forward to BBWF 2005.

That's where I jack mine. I then put the stands at each end of the same beam.

Depending on the dimensions of your trolley jack that area can be difficult to access. Obviously you don't have a problem here so

As long as you don't jack on the outriggers I think most points on the chassis would be OK, I tend to use the junction of the 3 tubes just behind the front wheel for the front and the similar point just foward of the diff at the rear.
